Almonry Barn Wedding Photographer | Almonry Barn Weddings

Almonry Barn Weddings has got to be one of the greatest places to get married in Somerset. It’s such a stunning wedding venue. The rooms are absolutely chock full of character and country charm, and the twinkling fairy lights everywhere add that magic touch. As soon as you arrive you just feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease and you can relax and have the best time.

I’ve shot here a number of times now over the years and I absolutely love it. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is perfect and the food is amazing too. Every time I get to visit I’m just so impressed by how far they go to make your day utterly brilliant.

From the gorgeous barn to the stunning garden, scattered with apple trees, theres something to make you smile everywhere you turn. Almonry Barn is perfect for a wedding at any time of year – summer evenings in the garden can’t be beaten, but the barn feels so cosy all year round that autumn and winter weddings feel perfect too. If you’re lucky the sun going down over the Somerset levels is a sight that’s hard to beat.

Telling Your Love Story Through Documentary Wedding Photography

Documentary wedding photography is a style of photography that captures real and unscripted moments during a wedding day. Unlike traditional wedding photography, which relies heavily on posed portraits and staged shots, documentary wedding photography focuses on capturing the raw and genuine emotions, expressions, and moments that happen naturally throughout the day.
This style of photography is all about telling the wedding day’s story through images that evoke emotions and memories of the day. The photographs are not just about the couple themselves but also the people, the location, and the little details that make each wedding unique.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I focus on the moments that truly capture the essence of the couple’s love and the day’s emotion. I am always looking for candid moments – the quiet exchanges between the couple, the stolen glances, and the heartfelt embraces.
However, it is vital to consider certain things to get real and alluring documented pictures of your D-day. Let us discuss them in detail.

A Wedding at The Grange at Belluton

When Emily first got in touch after finding me on Instagram she said “I’m probably doing this all in the wrong order as I don’t have a venue or a date yet”. Well, it just goes to show it doesn’t matter what order you do it in – it all came together just fine. In fact, better than fine. It all came together beautifully. Emily wanted to get married in the Chew Valley and she found an amazing wedding venue in The Grange at Belluton. She pulled in a whole load of brilliant suppliers to make the day incredible – and I got to photograph it all. Happy Sam!

I started the day at Emily’s mum and dad’s house near Chew Magna. The lovely Grace was doing her makeup and pretty soon Anna from Indigo Yard Floral arrived with Emily’s bouquet. The flowers throughout the day were absolutely beautiful, Anna did an amazing job (check out her insta to see more of her work!).

Once Emily was ready I hot-footed it down a couple of country lanes to the church. And it looked fantastic – Emily had wanted the aisle decorated with these large white balloons and it really gave an extra wow as guests arrived. The brilliant Steph at Sweet & Pretty had done the decorating at the church as well as everywhere else! I met Chris at the church and he seemed pretty relaxed, joking and laughing with his best man. Before long, Emily arrived in a little morris minor as the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.
